I love painting people who have their own style and an inner confidence or humour. One of my favourite models to paint is Raeven, a steam punk with distinctive style and features, and tonight I painted Sadie, a burlesque performer. She hadn’t modelled before and did a fantastic job. It was just a one-session painting, but I hope I’ve managed to capture her personality – the sparkle in her eyes, the arch of her brow, and her bright red lips slightly curled at the corners are on the verge of a smile. I hope she comes back!

430 x 530 acrylic on canvas. 35 mm black wood frame with white slip frame.
